Any order placed by a Dealer is, unless otherwise stated, not returnable, unless the object is not as described. An object is not considered to be ordered by a Dealer 'On Approval' unless Coup de Foudre LLC understands and agrees in writing to such terms prior to shipment. We ask that you keep the packing materials used on your purchase until you are satisfied with the condition of your items. (Packing materials may be required if you have any concerns regarding the condition of your merchandise.) Also:  We do require that you notify us of a pending return, wait for our reply and then post your return with insurance and a tracking/tracing system such as that used by the U.S. Postal Service, UPS, Federal Express, DHL or other carrier. Returning items purchased with a Gift Certificate We accept returns of items purchased with Gift Certificates. We will issue another Gift Certificate in the same name as the original. Follow the instructions below, and be sure to include your invoice number and the name and e-mail address of the person who gave you the gift. (Don't worry--we won't let them know about your return!) Please include your own e-mail address as well, so that we may confirm your new Gift Certificate. How to Return Items Returned items must be properly packed and insured. We cannot receive COD mail. If we receive a returned item in a condition inferior to that in which we sent it to you, you are liable for damages. Contact us for guidance if you have concerns about your ability to pack an item to withstand the rigors of shipment. Remember: You are responsible for seeing that your return makes it to us in proper condition. No ifs, ands, buts! Include your invoice number and our address inside your returning package (as well as outside) and send the item to:
We will notify you via e-mail or post of your refund once we have received and processed the returned item. If you paid by check, money order or PayPal you will receive a full refund of the invoiced purchase price (or, if the return is a result of our error, the full amount you paid.) If you paid by credit card we will deduct transaction fees from your refund. These fees are generally 3.5% of the invoiced purchase price plus $.15 (fifteen cents.) We refund shipping costs only if the return is a result of our error. Example 1: you order a $100.00 leather-bound book and charge it, plus $8.00 shipping and insurance, to your Visa card for a total expenditure of $108.00. Upon the book's arrival you decide that the binding is really too red for the look you wanted on your shelf. You request a return and refund WITHIN 7 days of receiving the book. We receive the book back in the same condition as we sent it to you and refund to you $96.35. This represents your $100.00 less a 3.5% credit card fee ($3.50) and a $.15 bank transaction fee. The shipping and insurance is not refundable since your return is based on your subjective decision and not to any negligence on our part. Example 2: you order a $100.00 leather-bound book and charge it, plus $8.00 shipping and insurance, to your Visa card for a total expenditure of $108.00. Upon the book's arrival you discover that we did not mention that the book was missing chapter 3. You request a return and refund WITHIN 30 days of your receiving the book. We receive the book back in the same condition as we sent it to you and refund $108.00 to you. We cover all the costs in this instance because we made the error that prompted your return.
